The tour

Tour with beautiful landscapes.

This tour initially begins on a forestry lane with a moderate climbin the direction of the Hauser Kaibling. The last 200 m before the transmitter masts are very steep and covered in coarse gravel.A side trip to the Kaiblingalm and the reservoir is rewarded with great scenery. This tour combines nicely with the Gumpental or Kaibling tours.

The ascent is made with the 8-seater gondola lift at Hauser Kaibling:

Turn-by-turn directions

On the Krummholz Loop, the Hauser Kaibling cable car comfortably takes you up the mountain, and your tour begins right at the top station. From the very first moment, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views along a 13-kilometre route with around 400 metres of elevation gain.

After the gondola ride, the route continues on a gravel road with several switchbacks climbing steadily uphill. With every metre gained, the views of the surrounding mountain landscape become even more impressive. After about 400 metres of climbing, you reach the plateau where multiple lifts meet and several huts invite you to take a well-deserved break. Take your time and soak in the views of the Dachstein and Stoderzinken.

The route then descends gently to a reservoir – right next to it, the sun terrace of the Kaiblingalm is perfect for a relaxing stop.
You can also combine this tour with the Gumpental or Kaibling Loop to enjoy a longer descent all the way into the valley.

Note (valid for 2025):
Due to construction traffic on Hauser Kaibling, there may be restrictions during weekdays. On weekends, however, the route is fully accessible and perfect for an enjoyable ride.
