Ortovox Training Park with avalanche transceiver checkpoint
Ramsau am Dachstein
Ski touring and freeriding in alpine terrain are fascinating experiences that bring the beauty of the winter mountain world to life. With a variety of groomed piste tours and challenging off-piste routes, the Dachstein glacier offers ideal conditions for this.
Safety is the top priority here: the ORTOVOX TRAINING PARK and an avalanche transceiver CHECKPOINT are available on the Dachstein glacier. These innovative facilities offer practical training opportunities and enable a reliable functional check of the safety equipment.
Realistic training for emergencies
Anyone who is out and about in unsecured terrain should regularly practise using emergency equipment. The new ORTOVOX TRAINING PARK on the Dachstein enables realistic avalanche victim search training without risk. The permanently installed facility is located at the start of the Hallstatt glacier in the direction of the Seethalerhütte and is easily accessible. Transmitters are buried over an area of 80 x 80 m, which enable a realistic simulation of avalanche victim searches at various levels of difficulty (1-6 victims). It is compatible with all avalanche transceivers.
Ortovox Checkpoint: Reliable avalanche transceiver control
A functioning avalanche transceiver is the basic requirement for safe movement in open terrain. The ORTOVOX CHECKPOINT allows you to quickly and reliably check whether your own avalanche transceiver is switched on and transmitting properly. A visual and acoustic signal provides feedback on the functionality of the device as you pass by. The checkpoint is installed in the area of the Dachstein mountain station and helps winter sports enthusiasts to set off into the terrain optimally prepared.
