More information
Turn-by-turn directions
This winter walk starts with a ride on the cable-car Planai-West. With the cable-car you almost feel like flying when crossing Talbachklamm gorge in dizzy heights. At the intermediate terminal of the cable-car you get off and start your walk along the Spreitzsweg road. Especially in the afternoon this is a very sunny area for walking and you enjoy the great view to Rohrmoos and the Hochwurzen as well as the Dachstein massif. After about half an hour you reach the village of Untertal, where the restaurant Landalm invites for refreshments, snacks or even dinner.
From the village of Untertal you follow the wide trail through Talbachklamm gorge back to Schladming. The gorge fascinates in every season - in winter the natural ice sculptures give a special ambience to the gorge. In the evening the effect lighting adds an additional layer to this atmosphere. The trail through the gorge is illuminated until midnight.
Getting there
Exit from federal highway B320 at exit "Schladming-West". After entering at the town limit you continue for about 500 m and then turn-off right to the ski station Planai-West.
