The tour

This diverse circular tour starts at the valley station of the Hauser Kaibling cable car and leads via Oberhaus, Stöcklhütte, and Knapplhütt’n into the idyllic Gumpental valley. A steep descent takes you down to Ruperting before the loop ends back in Haus im Ennstal.

Note for 2025:
Due to construction work, the route is not recommended on weekdays. On weekends, it’s fully accessible.

Turn-by-turn directions

The starting point of this scenic loop is the Hauser Kaibling cable car valley station, heading in the direction of Schladming. In the center of Haus im Ennstal, the route turns left towards Oberhaus. From there, it continues past the Stöcklhütte and the Knapplhütt’n into the idyllic Gumpental valley.

Once in Gumpental, a short detour to the Stanglalm is well worth it – the perfect place for a snack or a short break. The route then continues almost entirely flat to Gumpenberg, passing the renowned Hotel Höflehner. A steep, paved descent follows down to Ruperting, after which a relaxed final section takes you back to the starting point in Haus.

Note (valid for 2025):
The route is not recommended on weekdays due to construction work. On weekends, however, it is fully accessible.
