Vorberg Road Bike Loop

The trail leads through the charming village of Ramsau and continues towards Vorberg. From there, a fast descent takes you down to Pichl.
In Pichl, the route follows the Enns Cycling Path, which runs flat along the Enns River. Once the gravel road begins, take a left turn, cross the Enns bridge and the railway tracks, and then turn right. A short section where you may need to push your bike, including an underpass, ensures a safe crossing of the B320 federal highway. Afterward, you'll reach the Hochstraße, a road that offers breathtaking panoramic views of Schladming and the Planai. Schladming is the perfect spot for a short break to recharge.
From Schladming, the route climbs through Birnberg and continues to Leiten before finally returning to the starting point in Ramsau.
Highlights Along the Route:
- Scenic Views: The tour offers spectacular vistas of the Schladming Tauern and the Dachstein Massif. The Hochstraße, in particular, provides stunning views of Schladming and the Planai.
- Refreshment Stops: Schladming's charming town center, with its cozy cafés and inns, is an inviting place to pause and enjoy some local treats.
The tour starts at the Ramsau am Dachstein Tourist Office and passes through the village of Ramsau and the Vorberg district. From there, a descent leads down to Pichl.
In Pichl, the route follows the Enns Cycling Path. When the gravel road begins, take a left turn, cross the Enns bridge and the railway tracks. From Schladming, the path ascends through Birnberg and Leiten, eventually returning to the starting point at the Ramsau am Dachstein Tourist Office.
From Salzburg: Take the A10 to Altenmarkt, then follow the B320 towards Liezen. Exit at Ramsau am Dachstein and turn left onto Ramsauerstraße. After 8 km, you will reach the Tourist Office.
From Graz: Take the A9 to Liezen, then follow the B320 towards Schladming. Exit at Ramsau am Dachstein and turn right onto Ramsauerstraße. After 8 km, you will arrive at the Tourist Office.
Take the train from Radstadt or St. Michael to Schladming. At Schladming train station, transfer to bus line 960 heading towards Ramsau Ort. Get off at the "Ramsau Kulm" stop. The Ramsau am Dachstein Tourist Office is just a one-minute walk from there.
- Always wear a helmet and appropriate clothing.
- Stick to designated and marked trails only.
- Pay attention to traffic at intersections and road crossings! Be considerate and give way when necessary.
- Control your speed on downhill sections!
- Respect the environment—leave no trash or waste in the mountains.

The Right Bike: a road bike or gravel bike is recommended.
Breakdowns can happen - but rarely at the doorstep of one of the numerous service points: a basic kit of tools and accessories therefore never hurts! Spare inner tube and/or repair kit, universal spanner, air pump, brake and shift cable, as well as a screwdriver can never hurt.
- Schladming is the perfect spot for a quick coffee break at one of the cozy inns.
- On a hot summer day, Pichl Lake is an excellent choice for a refreshing dip to cool off.
